TEMPOROMADIBULAR JOINT DYSFUNCTION
Problems with the Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) can result in limitations in opening or closing of the jaw. Oftentimes, the TMJ can be the source of facial pain or headaches.
What can cause TMJ?
Some TMJ problems arise from trauma to the face, neck or head. Other problems can result from inefficient spinal posture placing tension on the jaw, clenching, stress, grinding of the teeth, and even chewing gum.
How will Abide Physical Therapy help?
Abide is rooted in manual therapy and corrective exercise. We will assist you in restoring optimal joint mechanics to mobilize the jaw and other spinal joints that might not be moving efficiently in combination with stabilizing exercises and postural retraining.
